Hunter will be teaching the catchers the following fundamentals:
-Finding the Grip
-Pitcher Catcher Relationship Building
-Hitting (if time permits)
Hunter is a switch-hitting catcher from Benedictine University at Mesa. During his time with the Redhawks, Hunter started in 53 games and posted a .978 fielding percentage at catcher. He batted .374 with a .490 slugging percentage and was named 2019 California Pacific Conference Gold Glove Catcher. He received an honorable mention All-American NAIA. Hunter had previous stops at Tarleton State where he started 33 game hitting .275 while throwing out 13 of 27 would be base runners. Hunter started his college career under head coach Lloyd Simmons at Seminole State College… as a sophomore, hit .382 and drove in 22 runs for the Trojans in 26 games before transferring to the University of Oklahoma.
Workouts are indoors so bring your tennis/turf shoe, full baseball uniform and catching gear. Please bring your own water. These works will have limited throwing. The focus is on receiving, blocking and footwork & exchange.
